A Box decorated with Flexible Stencils

Painted with craft paint and decorated with a template and a glitter liner.

Rinse the template in warm water after each use. The template is self-adhesive and retains the ability to stick after rinsing. Dry the template with a lint free cloth.

1. Paint the box with craft paint, silver.

2. When the box is dry, attach the template.

3. Dab with craft paint, grey.

4. Gently remove the template.

5. Wash and rinse the template. When the first print is dry, attach the template again –continuing the pattern.

6. Finally decorate with a glitter liner.

Tablecloths from Vivi Gade Fabric

A table runner and a tablecloth are sewn from vivi gade fabric from the copenhagen series. Decorated with a lovely lace.

1. For the table runner cut to a desired length: 1 piece measuring 23cm, two pieces each measuring 12cm and two pieces each measuring 6cm.

2. Cut the same sizes from vlieseline minus 1cm in each side. Iron onto the fabric.

3. Sew all lengths together with 1cm seam.

4. Sew the lace onto each side of the centre piece of fabric.

5. Cut another piece of fabric with the same measurement as the sewn pieces of fabric. Sew together, right side against right side with a 1cm seam all the way around. Leave an opening for turning the cloth inside out. Sew the opening together with back stitches. Iron the table runner.

6. Fold in 1cm of the edges of the tablecloth and iron to fix (you may use the sewing machine to sew over lock stitches beforehand). Sew on the lace.

Candle making in sand

It is exiting to make candles in sand. Prepare a mold in moist sand and pour in the candle wax. This is a very good idea for an activity with the children.

1. Press a mold into the moist sand and remove.

2. Tie a knot on the wick and push it into the sand in the middle of the mould.

3. Hold the wick in place between two sticks.

4.Fill a melting pot with candle wax and melt it. Pour candle dye beads until the desired strength and shade is reached. Start with a few beads, for instance ten of each colour.

5. Stir until the colour is dissolved. Take samples until the desired colour is reached.

6. Pour the candle wax carefully into the mold and let it harden. Lift out the candle, brush off excess sand and trim the wick. The candle can be turned depending on the shape.
