Panormitis

Panormitis - This broad colorful boat is used to fish local waters and is know as a kayiki. It is named Panormitis, after the local monastery "St Michael of Panormitis", on the Island of Symi. Pilgrims come from all over the world to attend a Pentecostal festival at the monastery.

Holy Trinity

Holy Trinity sits atop a slender pinnacle of Rock in the Meteora region of Central Greece. In 1925 steps were hewn from the rock to provide access to the monastery. A pulley system had been used in the prior centuries to haul up people and supplies.

Patmos

Patmos is a beautiful island with many churches that has maintained it's religious traditions. John the Evangelist wrote The Book of Revelations on the island and an important monastery honors his name.

A decorated Wreath made from Natural Branches

This wreath is made from natural branches. It is decorated with artistic copper wire, guinea fowl feathers and a small feathered bird. The wreath is then decorated with flower bulbs, white eggs and eggs painted with copper paint.

1. Apply two coats of Art Metal copper paint to the plastic eggs and let the paint dry between applications. NB: the painting procedure is made easier by pushing a flower stick into the egg to use as a handle.

2. Wrap the artistic copper wire around the outside of the wreath.

3. Push guinea fowl feathers randomly into the wreath all the way around. Also clip a couple of feathered birds onto the branches. Place a flower pot with flower bulbs in the middle of the wreath and arrange white and painted eggs around it.

DIY: Mosaic Ornaments from CDs

There is surely at least one CD you didn’t have any use for, but didn’t quite manage to throw it out. It’s cluttering your desk along other CDs you burned with music, when memory sticks and flash drives were just beginning to catch on. There’s an upside to all this. You can go green – recycle, and make your very own CD mosaic ornaments for the holidays.
Simply take a CD and use a pair of scissors or a cutter to make little pieces out of it that you can glue afterward on a Christmas ball. It’s a fun process and it makes you a friend of the planet and an inspiration for decorators as well.
