Bracelets and chains with wire beads

The beautiful glass beads provide a wealth of possibilities. Here are matching wire beads made from soft jewellery wire twisted into beads around a mandrel. Glass and wire beads are strung onto elastic beading cord, which makes the work easy and manageable.

A Crocheted Necklace from Beading Wire with Silicone Stop Rings

This necklace is crocheted from beading wire with silicone stop rings threaded onto the wire randomly as you go along. Five crocheted pieces of beading wire have been crocheted to make this necklace. The five necklaces are assembled into one necklace in a magnetic clasp.

1. Thread the silicone stop rings onto the beading wire. Do not cut off a piece of the beading wire, but leave the beading wire still on the roll. Feel free to choose the number of silicone stop rings.

2. Cast on a stitch at the end of the jewellery wire.

3. Crochet five or six chain stitches before pulling the first silicone stop ring along the wire towards the nearest stitch. Then continue crocheting.

4. Continue crocheting following the illustrated process until the stretched length of the necklace measures approx. 65cm. Crochet a total number of five pieces of beading wire.

5. Assemble the ends of the five pieces of crocheted beading wire in a knot and cut off the excess.

6. Add a blob of glue inside both hollow end caps of the magnetic clasp. Push each end piece of the crocheted necklace inside the end cap and hold in place until the glue has dried.

A Suede Bracelet

A bracelet plaited in suede cord with coconut buttons used as decoration and as a fastener.

1. Cut two pieces of suede cord; one measuring 70cm and one measuring 35cm. Double over the long piece of cord to make a loop. Glue the short cord underneath the loop. Tie a small piece of cord around and glue it onto the back.

2. Plait the three cords, keeping them flat.

3. Close in the same way as in the beginning. Cut off the two outer cords.

4. Glue or sew on a button at the end of the plaited bracelet for fastening with the loop.

5. Sew a large button in the middle of the bracelet.

Beautiful decorative Capiz Jewellery

Capiz shells and rocaille beads are put onto a ball head pin as well as a tassel in matching colours. These are assembled in a round jump ring and then pulled onto a leather cord or a french ear wire.

The really beautiful capiz shells with holes are unique, colourful; and with inspired designs they are ideal for fashionable jewellery. The tassel is made from mercerized cotton yarn which is wrapped around two fingers and assembled with a few rounds of yarn approx. 1cm from the top.

2. Pass the cord through the loop and pull a fashion link down over both cords.

3. Glue on an end cap at both ends.

4. Attach a clasp with a round jump ring.

Fancy hair accessories with feathers

To match our gorgeous range of leather, we have made this headband from leather and feathers. The floral decoration may be omitted if you simply want beautiful feather patterns.

1. Measure the length of the hair band and add 6cm. Draw this length up on the back of a piece of leather. The width should be about  4cm.

2. Cut off the sketched strip.

3. Cover the hair band with special extra strong double-sided tape – both on the outside and the inside and remove the protective layer.

4. Put the inside of the leather on the inside of the hair band. Make sure there is 3cm extra at each end.

5. Cut the corners at an angle to achieve a great finish. Cut approx. 3-4mm from the edge of the hair band, so you cannot see any of the plastic of the hair band when the leather is folded around it.

6. Start by turning the pointed end tip of the leather inwards. Then fold the strip of leather towards the middle of the hair band as you go along. Don’t worry if the sides do not reach completely and if they make a crack. This small crack will be covered by glue and feathers. If the sides fold over each other, you can trim them to make them smaller.

7. Cut away all the downy bits of the feather, leaving only the best outer feather. You will need to cut quite a lot of feathers.

8. Start by gluing on the feathers with a glue gun approx. 1/3 up on the hair band. Then work downwards by making each new feather cover a bit over the previous one. Glue a small piece at a time to avoid the glue drying up. When you reach one end, turn the hair band and continue with the remaining 2/3. Start at the same place as before and work down towards the other end.

9. For the floral decoration you will need to cut approx. 15 small leaves of your desired size. Make a hole at one end with revolving punch pliers.

10. Cut a piece of 1mm thick leather cord measuring approx. 50cm and feed the cord through the holes in the leather leaves. To make the decoration more exciting, you can alternate between different colours of leather, and between front and back of the leather leaf.

11. Gather all the leaves onto the middle of the cord and tie the cord hard together with a reef knot.

12. Turn the decoration so that the back is facing upwards and thread a coconut wooden bead onto one of the cords. Make an ornamental flourish with the card and glue the cord securely with a glue gun. With the same cord make another ornamental flourish with another wooden bead on and glue securely in place.

13. With the other cord make a single ornamental flourish with a wooden bead on and glue securely in place. Cut the two cord ends to length.

14. Pull a metal disc onto each cord end and glue with instant glue. Alternatively you can use clear marker as glue.

15. Turn the flower decoration face up. Find three beautiful, long feathers and remove the bottom downy bits of the feathers. Glue on the feathers between the leaves of the flower.

16. Glue the entire flower decoration onto the hair band with a glue gun 1/3 up where the two opposite directions of feathers meet. The hair band is now ready for use.

2. Pull beads onto the wire including a large bead in the middle.

3. Finish in the same way with a crimp bead.

4. Cut off the excess wire.

5. Repeat the procedure. However, do not put on a large bead but pull the wire through the large bead on the first wire.

6. Gather the two wires and fit a round jump ring and a clasp.
